A Love That Is Everlasting: Honoring Eric & Sharon’s 52-Year Story
Sometimes, the universe works in ways we can’t possibly plan, guiding things exactly where they need to be.
A little while ago, I had the honor of creating a deeply personal memorial set for a wonderful client named Sharon. She loves the rich warmth of 14k yellow gold, so together we designed something truly unique: we incorporated her late husband Eric's original wedding ring as the outer frame for her new pendant.
Nestled right inside his band is a custom hand-blown glass gem infused with his ashes, paired with a matching set of handcrafted glass earrings. The glass caught the light with deep purples, iridescent teals, and soft violet tones—creating a quiet, gorgeous way to keep Eric close to her heart every single day.
A Delivery Guided by Love
While the package was on its way to Sharon, I found myself checking the tracking number every day, hoping it would arrive quickly and wishing the mail could move just a little bit faster.
As it turns out, there was a higher reason for the timing.
Shortly after delivery, I received the sweetest, most peaceful note from Sharon. The package hadn't arrived on just any ordinary day—it arrived directly on the morning of her and Eric's 52nd wedding anniversary.
After opening the package and spending some quiet moments with the pieces, Sharon drove out to the Veterans Memorial Cemetery where Eric rests. She went to show him how his wedding ring had beautifully evolved into its next chapter, to let him know she was thinking of him on their special day, and to wish him a Happy Anniversary.
Breathing New Life into Cherished Keepsakes
Hearing how much comfort it brought Sharon to hold Eric so close on such a sentimental day completely filled my heart. It felt as though Eric was watching over the entire creation process, ensuring his new keepsake made it home right on time.
Moments like these are a gentle reminder of why we do what we do at Over the Rainbow Memorials. We aren't just crafting jewelry—we are helping hold onto a love that is truly everlasting.
Sharon, thank you for trusting me to be a small part of you and Eric's beautiful story.
